Blog hop--Thanks Joe Pranaitis!
Hi everyone! I was invited by author, Joe Pranaitis, to participate in a “blog hop interview.” In order to participate, I answer interview questions, and I tag authors to continue the chain. I've tagged Cynthia (cina) Pelayo, a fellow female horror writer, and her post will go live on 8/05.
Here's my Q&A:
1. What are you working on right now?
I am finishing up the first draft of The Red Lantern Scandals: Volume 3
2. How does it differ from other works in its genre?
The Red Lantern Scandals is unique because its main characters are Chinese-American, and there is a serious lack of Asian-American erotica on the market.
3. Why do you write what you do?
I was tired of seeing certain depictions of how Asian female sexuality was portrayed so I felt it was time for an Asian female voice to change the narrative.
4. How does your writing process work?
I'm an outgoing person who enjoys new experiences, and I use those experiences to inspire me to write. I have a ton of notepads and post-its in my room, and I jot down ideas before I start an outline. After I finish outlining, I show it to my trusted friends and get feedback before I begin writing prose. I find that writing a first draft as fast as possible and then fixing it later works for me. Otherwise, if the first draft doesn't just spill out of me, I'll never finish.
